Burial rights

This is the first thing asked for a few reasons.. They know Some Vetran who died or is dying. This is what you do. First you need to locate the Vetrans DD214. Nothing can happen until this is done. The Vet who was discharged under conditions other then dishonorable may have burial benefits. Next call your local funeral director to contact a Mr. Barber at the following number (520)533-2229 and fax number is (520) 533-5411. The fax number is important because they will need a copy of the Vets DD 214 sent to them. At this time they will set up a date of a Honor Guard for the Vet to show up and fold the flag and play taps. The Funeral Director should take care of getting the flag for you however you should ask to make sure they don't forget and remind them. Never assume something is going to happen and always get names. Fill out the sheet for the Vets Grave marker and if you want fill out the paper for the presidental certificate. I have to walk many people through this and left them notes with numbers and name. Most of the time they are so wacked out of their mind that they are going in nine directions at once. When you call this place remember they are trained to answer the same thing over and over like a recording so they might say it really really fast when they answer or they may have some wierd name for it other then Burial services. So when you call ask them if this is the number for Military Burials and honor guard. If the number is busy try again. There are vets dying every day so your call is not the only one. If you already know the date of the services get this done as soon as possible. You wait too long then they may not be able to get someone out there for you. Good luck!

Education

There are so many different areas that are covered so I will try to quickly explain them. You have your Education benefits that you earned and saved while you were in the service. These benefits can be used up to ten years after you have come out of the service and there may be exceptions to this rule as well. The second benefit is disabled vetrans program and Voc. Rehab. This is design to help service connected disabled vets get work and education. This program is divided up in many parts as well and would need time to be explained in full.

Please don’t mistake your first amendment right of burning the American flag is greater then me exercising my right to go to jail for kicking the living crap out of you for doing it.! While it’s been taught in training that pain is weakness leaving the body, it is also to let you know that you are still alive and ready for more weakness to come out.
